KHSAA Dead Period

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) mandates an annual, strict 14-day "Dead Period" from June 25 through July 9. During this time, all school-related athletic activities are completely shut down to allow student-athletes and coaches to rest, recharge, and spend time with their families. No Contact: Zero communication is allowed between coaches and student-athletes (in person, phone, text, or social media). No School Facilities: Athletic facilities are completely closed to students for organized school competition or practice. No Equipment or Uniforms: Team equipment, uniforms, and school-provided gear cannot be used or distributed.
